I saw the ratings yesterday and it just reminded me that modern viewers don’t appreciate or understand defending, to the point where a team defending their position is seen as “anti football”, rather than an actual aspect of the game.

Why are some people legitimately saying that playing defensively is bad? I believe we did a great job defending. They had multiple corners and shots but we managed to defend brilliantly and take the game into pens and win. We knew our limits and we did what we could and I’m proud of it.

As far as I know, it’s automatic rating based on metrics like goals, passes, tacles and possession.
Basically if your team has 90% possession and just passes the ball around horizontally you’ll end up with an 8/10 rating at least.
Real Players didn’t have the ball so they lost all the points of “passing” and “ball possession”.
Anyway, we won, the rest is history
Offensive player scores goal = good rating
Defensive player defends incredible = bad rating
Fede literally won Player of the Match.
Lol end of the day, the kings of Europe go through.
These ratings can go in the bin as they are pointless
