So my mister was rummaging through some vintage television engineer's trade magazines and this dropped out. Neither of us have ever heard of them and Google hasn't been helpful so I'm throwing it open. My suspicion is that they were probably just a pub/working men's club act but if anyone knows anything different then feel free to chip in!
Additional info: the magazines that the promo picture fell out of range in date from the 1960's to the early 1980's and were originally bought by someone connected to the Southport/Wigan areas of the North West.

I did a Google image search and it thought they were Buck’s Fizz.
I think you’re on the money with the Working Men’s Club circuit… my first thought was dodgy early 80s covers band with a singer who doubled up as the, ahem, Special Attraction, on Sunday lunchtimes…
Ooh, it were undeniably grim Oop North…
Arctic fox mate
Look like the type of band that used to play at Butlins after the bingo. The girl was there as a bit o’ blue f’dads.
The guy on the left looks a bit like Les McKeown from the Bay City Rollers but this lot definitely appears a lot more 80s than 70s.

My investigative skills lead me to believe that this photo originated during the latter end of that range. You’re welcome.
They’re still together:

I’m not exactly Captain Lurch, but those are some major league short arses.
I found a rare NWOBHM dedicated Facebook page that lists an Arctic Fox as a NWOBHM band. They certainly look like they could have been a NWOBHM band in the 80s. I don’t see them listed in the NWOBHM encyclopedia though and that book is usually an authority.
This is very early 80’s ….. absolutely no doubt about it.
Definitely not 70’s.
The New Romantic hairstyles and clothes combined with a few post punk chains are a giveaway.
If I was a betting man ….1981
Arctic Fox
Charlie, Mac, Dennis and Dee
Didn’t Brian Wilson start this band. ???
I think the guys standing on the outside might be guitarist Craig Joiner and keyboardist Tony Mitman, both later of Mutt Lange-produced 80s rock hopefuls Romeo’s Daughter, who admit to having been in a band called Arctic Fox, and in the right timeframe. Source: page 15 of this 1988 edition of Cashbox. There’s a fuzzy band pic for those good at comparing faces. https://www.worldradiohistory.com/Archive-All-Music/Cash-Box/80s/1988/CB-1988-10-29.pdf
I know they have a winter job making toys for Santa.
are the guys really short or do they have massive heads? I know 80s hairstyles are big but those are some really massive heads
Part time shelf fillers from Fyne Fayre Supermarket, Basildon, Essex, UK 1982.
Isn’t that the gang from always Sunny? Of course it is. How can you not recognise the GOLDEN GOD!!
The parents of Arctic Monkeys
Short Leg-ers ! !
Parents of the Arctic Monkeys
Strong ‘Smell The Glove’ vibes there.
Charlie !!?
The singer (I presume its the lady) really is a fox!
Romeo’s Daughter?
I recognise the woman on the left, just cant place her…
Hey that’s my uncle Jerry
For a second I thought that was Billy Duffy from The Cult on the left!
Top middle Matt Perry RIP
Looks like an early grunge band.
