Came across this flask that I haven't used in about 6 years. It's in great condition and I do hike a lot but for whatever reason always neglect to take it. But I'll definitely use it in the future. I think.

So what items have you got that you still intend to use for its original use (so cycle machines used as clothes horses don't count) at some point in the future.

  1. My potato ricer that I use once a year. I always really enjoy that one time though.

  2. That’s a lovely looking thermos. We have a big thermos and two smaller ones. We nearly always take both the smaller ones for some reason but always use the big one when going to one specific place. I have no idea why!
Although one bonus of the smaller thermos is that sometimes in winter I’ll make up a thick hot chocolate in one and a tea or coffee in the other. It’s heaven but you don’t want a massive portion if you intend to move withing a few hours of drinking it!

  3. We did have an air fryer still in the box from about 10 years ago. It was a Christmas gift that we never used, sold it last week.

  4. Well the sandwich toaster hasn’t been used since, probably 1996, so there’s that.

There’s plenty of old tech, like a Megadrive, CPC464, Atari 2600 etc that hasn’t been used since the 90s, that I always wanted to find a space to have them all set up. Probably a lot of tools, especially bike tools. And my poor abandonded tennis racket that last saw action about 96/97.

I have clothes that may still fit, which I may not have worn for 20-30 years. There’s a old MUFC stadium jacket that I hung on the back of a bedroom door when we moved here ~22 years ago that has been hung there since.

  5. How has nobody mentioned the small singular can of John West tuna that has been in the back of their cupboard for the last 10 years..

  6. A calendar from four years ago. It’s still wrapped too.

  7. Thermos, chocolate fountain thing, George Forman grill and I can’t remember what it’s called? it heats up your milk and makes it frothy.

  8. A heart rate monitor that ONLY monitors heart rate.

From the 90s when Polar would only give you a monitoring facility without a timer, for a sensible price.

But now I’m old enough to appreciate the huge numbers on it, I can’t find it.

  9. A cafetière and a fondue set. Wedding presents from 15 years ago, still boxed and unused

  10. Doughnut maker and, I kid you not, an egg boiler! I do the cooking and my wife chips in by buying random kitchen shite. The egg boiler is hilarious. It takes about 10 minutes to randomly boil bits of 1 egg. So if you want 2 each, it takes about 40 minutes. And they are completely inedible. Can’t throw it away though. It was a present!

  11. Food/smoothie blender that was used for about a week and now resides on top of the fridge gathering dust

  12. You have only one? I have several that I have never used.

  13. sandwich toaster, V-slicer and spiraliser, they are all gonna need a big dust off before further use.

  14. Carpet offcuts- rolled up and shoved in a corner of the garage. Ready just in case I need a piece of carpet 18” x 5’.

They’ve been there since I bought the house 10 years ago – the old carpets stank, so it was the first thing I did.

  15. The carpet shampooing equipment for my Kirby hoover. We have laminate now, so the box is gathering dust. I’m about to use the handheld sprayer to clean my sofa though….

  16. A 3 tier steamer. Brilliant when we have folk visiting but can’t be arsed getting it out for us two. Asked husband and he said “the wife” cheeky bugger.

  17. I have five suits in my closet, arranged in order of increasing waist size. This is a problem because

    1. Nobody wears suits to work any more.
    2. I don’t wear a suit any more as I have retired.
    3. The chances of decreasing my waistline are slim.

  18. Three rogue trader era mk 1 landraiders from the late 80s. I should probably sell them.

  19. My wife keeps every single jar, box, container, bag or anything that can potentially be reused.

    It drives me mad!

  20. Sea fishing rod. I haven’t used it in 20 years but that doesn’t mean I won’t.

    Said every hoarder ever.
