[Jamie Carragher]: “If Arsenal & Liverpool are ‘bottling it’ in April & May, what does that say about Man United & Chelsea? They’re clubs which have made so many poor decisions they’re nowhere near the required level. Arteta & Klopp are being judged to the ultimate standard in taking on Guardiola.”

I’m a United fan and I’d love to be bottling the title race right now 🥲
True no one has talked about how Chelsea and Man United are doing this season…
Carragher is just an absolutely shit pundit whenever it comes to Liverpool, he can not control his emotions at all. All logic goes out the window, and this is just another attempt at lashing out and deflecting because Liverpool have had some bad results and a bit of criticism.
Jamie being jamie
Plenty of time to bottle it against Coventry, but that would take some record kind of bottle.
Eh, let them have their fun, they don’t get much. Midtable clubs get to laugh at everyone above and below because at least they’re not feeling anything
Such a whiner. Also United and Chelsea have been bad all season. Liverpool and Arsenal falling off in 2 weeks is obviously going to get a lot of traction. But let’s not pretend like United and Chelsea haven’t been getting bad. Press all season. Also they didn’t bottle it, that word gets overused and it’s meaning is forgotten.
The difference is expectations. No one looked at Chelsea, with their current roster and a 5th manager in 12 months, and said that team is top 4 and should compete for the title. If they did, they are morons.
Man U was probably predicted to be a top 4 team by many coming off last season and with some good additions but they’ve had a terrible time with injuries, players like Rashford grossly underperforming last year, and some weird player issues.
The vast majority pushing the Arsenal, Liverpool or City bottled the league narrative (depending on who wins) is just trying to get clicks and engagement, or they just have poor football knowledge.
Either way it’s boring and I’d expect a higher standard of commentary surrounding what is the closest multi team title race in years.
Bottling it is to blow a substantial lead or lose from a situation where you are fully expected to win. So Arsenal and Liverpool aren’t bottling it if they don’t win the league this season. Maybe if they had a lead of 9+ points or something you could make a genuine case but they haven’t bottled it at all.
Having said that, the fact that Carragher, a so called professional pundit is trying to have a pop at Man United and Chelsea in this context is hilariously pathetic and just serves to remind everyone that he is monumental c**t
Uhh no shit we’re shit, everyone knows it and nobody has any intention of stopping reminding us.
Stupid, uncultured American here; what’s bottling in a football/soccer context?
Bottling keep getting thrown about too easily as if what these teams are trying to achieve should be doable with the required mental fortitude. It’s not that easy!!
Simply Man U and Chelsea are shit. No one cares them except their fans and some media.
R A T T L E D
Arsenal fans been floating about calling other clubs bottlers for years.
They pretty much invented the bottle narrative.
Can give it, but can’t take it.
Classic whataboutism from Carra, clearly he’s feeling the pressure
I’m gonna be honest, I understand why rival fans are bantering us, it is what it is. I would do the same if our rival was potentially going to miss their closest chance at ending a 20 year title drought.
But what really is noticeable is how **relatively** little Chelsea and Utd are getting clowned on for their hall of fame banter eras. We were getting roasted into oblivion for only making top 4 every season, if we were where either of them are now and have been for several seasons…
… Just saying.
