Hospital Beds in Ireland 2000 to 2019

  1. What can happen in some hospitals is sometimes, when they have more beds and more resources, that’s what kind of slows it down

  2. I wonder where all the space for these beds went physically? Like hospitals seem fairly full at the moment, so it’s strange to think that they could fit almost twice as many patients in them if they had the staff.

  3. Plot it per health budget, you’ll see we’re spending more than ever, and have shittier outcomes. Fuck sake. Cost cutting never cuts costs, just services.

  4. The HSE is not about treating sick people, it’s an agency for employing people. That’s why no one was laid off or made redundant when the health boards were amalgamated, and there are so many administrators /clipboard holders compared to health care providers. The bulk of funding for the hse is salaries and pensions .
