    here we have basically 2 parties that are the same but have different eu parties

  3. EFA, ECR and ID know what’s up.

    We can’t agree to centralization under the guise of democratization. Europe is not a melting pot of cultures like America and it is not an oppressive civilization-state like China. We need a confederal Europe respecting its constituent nations and ethnicities, no more and no less.

  4. For a stronger Europe, left or right doesn’t matter. Just avoid ID, EFA and to a lesser extent ECR. Most groups work towards the ever-closer Union.

  5. Imagine having a federation of europe, with similar minnimum salaries, with a single railway system, with a bigger united army and with a truly big market economy where our companies have enough clients to increase and to fight with the American and Chinese companies.

    I started to browse more and more subreddits like r/singularity and it is depressing to see how Europe companies are almost nonexistent.

  9. Federal Europe is a mistake. The federal America is budging at its seams with its deep polarization and we already struggle here in Europe with the woes of a multicultural and multidimensional union of very different member nations. Those issues would be far amplified beyond those of the US in federal Europe. There’s a reason we’ve started two World Wars and our current union is an uneasy peace.

    In any case, wealthy member nations are just not going to enter into a forever arrangement of one-sided wealth transfer and free passage across Europe as immigrants seek opportunity in the North. This isn’t to say that we don’t need unity and solidarity in these trying times, but a federation isn’t going to solve our problems.

  11. Why would anyone who loves their country want a European federation? I fully support the cooperation of democratic European countries, but why would I want my country to lose its independence and be governed by the will of the majority of other countries?

  12. many of these parties want change way too quickly. Beside that, removing the sovereignity from national states by removing vetoes, and unanimity in the next term will cause the idea to fail as too many member states are completely against it.

  13. The fifth column is working overtime it seems. My country will not loose its independence. Neither do I want to remove any other peoples independence and sovereignty.

  15. As somebody from the US, I want to see a big strong united Europe that has the soft and hard power of the US. The EU should hold more weight on the world stage than it currently does. Also, it would make the EU stronger against the threat of Russia!

  16. I am not sure I like the “re-founding of the EU” idea from **The Left** – I would rather vote for a practicable way to further integration than some big phrases.

    **Greens** are good. I am still not sure how the transnational lists would work in practice, though.

    I like **PES**’ highlights the most, but I would feel dirty voting for a party that decides to keep “socialists” in its name…

    **Renew Europe** is good. “EU reform must happen in parallel with Enlargement” – this is critical; not a single new member until the vetoes are out.

    **EPP** is… very reserved. Eh, they are fine, I guess.

  17. Wow. These parties seem to be vetted already by the socialist block. The people don’t need to use their brains, just looks at what the Center tells them to vote.

  21. Unfortunately we have to vote for one of our national parties and have to figure out ourselves which national party belongs to which European party.

    I am capable to make my own decisions also regarding the environment but on my own way.

  32. In 2024 It feels that an European federation is almost tabu. I’m one of the ones who want a stronger, more united Europe, not every one for themselves.
