Marquez is Plan-B, although Laporta still has doubts about whether he should instead bring a coach w/ more trajectory, like Tuchel. At the same time, he feels ‘Rafa’ is the most logical option since he has a contract here, speaks Spanish & knows the club. @tjuanmarti

  1. >Tuchel

Umm, sir respectfully, but no. Please, I will really start bawling at this point. I can’t handle so much pressure in life all at once 😭

  2. Imo, this is the most accurate report on the whole new Manager saga. Laporta knows that after 4 Seasons of Koman & Xavi rebuilding the team, it is finally time to get that big Manager who will take us to the absolutely next level. The level where we go for pure dominance in domestic competitions & UCL. Tuchel & Flick can help this team get that cutting edge which the previous ones couldn’t do.

However, at the same time Laporta knows that the Club is broke, and will find it hard to cater to the demands of a ‘World class Manager’ in the transfer window. Which is why he is tempted by the idea of getting Marquez who is financially feasible and also won’t make any over-the-top demands, rather using the young players. Also the fact that bring Tuchel or Flick will mean that there will be a bit of a radical change in playing style, which won’t happen with Rafa Marquez. Speaking Spanish, knowing the Club from the inside, etc are also other points which play to this narrative.

Another point is that this new appointment will play a big role in the next Presidential elections of the Club. If Laporta appoints Marquez, he flops & the Club goes Trophyless again, it will be a monumental blow to Laporta’s reputation.

Another extra point is that if the Club can secure the libero money, and the new deal with Nike where we will get something like 100M bonus, we might get to the 1:1 rule in FFP. This will be very important for us in the transfer window and allow us to make signings, catering to the demands of Tuchel/Flick. All in all, the decision to appoint a new Manager can decide the Club’s trajectory in the next couple of years, and if i was Laporta, i would take the risk and go for Tuchel/Flick.

  3. I would prefer Tuchel over Flick. I know nothing about Rafa Marquez so I can’t say anything about him

  4. All TUCHEL does is WIN IN UCL what do we NEED TO DO? WIN IN UCL it’s a no brainer and Laporta will make THE WRONG DECISION like he always does….

  5. If Tuchel is ready to work with what’s at hand and accepts the fact that we can’t sign big names for a long period we should take him. He is made for UCL KO football

  6. I don’t want Tuchel. He gets into conflicts with everyone

  7. For all the people who called him xavi bin laden shall be frothing from the mouth once they witness the horrors of Tucheliban

  8. See, it’s the same shit every day, some fans saying Tuchel is great because of his experience and results in CL, others hate the idea with the “tucheliban” BS. Same with De Zerbi and others, our fans don’t know what they want.

I thought what mattered is winning and especially winning the CL? well Tuchel is a good candidate for that, just trying to understand.

  9. Tuchel??? He destroyed a great Bayern squad and he has said repeatedly he doesn’t like the spotlight while he was at Chelsea. Just imagine him at Barca, dude would put on so many disaster shows. Flick isn’t an option either…he had one season where he won the treble yes but then went to Germany to put on absolute horror shows with the same players he had at Bayern. If we want a truly world class manager, we have to hold out for Klopp.

  10. Everyone here saying no tuchel but hey he gets results and tbh we got no other choice rn laporta looks like he hates flick and rafa is just another xavi with even less experience
