Hi everyone! I’m having a problem with flushing the toilet since the water keeps on leaking into the toilet, so that the tank is never full. I contacted the landlord, but the appointment for investigation is in the next 3 weeks. I’d either like to fix it temporarily or close the water valve so that it I can save some water and manage to survive meanwhile. Would anyone like to guide me any tips?

This might be a case of cleaning the mechanic inside the box. This mechanic closes the valve when there is enough water. There are many YouTube videos on this topic. I suspect a descaler might be helpful
Your first photo likely shows a place where a domestic gas meter used to be installed. The valves are usually color-coded and the color and the type of valve looks like being used for domestic gas.
It could be that your toilet has no dedicated valve and there’s only one in the basement that shuts off your whole flat.
Edit: Didn’t realize it’s a tank behind the wall. I don’t know how to open these (if at all), my recommendation mainly applies to “external” tanks:
Maybe your problem isn’t leaking but overflowing. When you open the top of your water tank you should see a hollow which shuts off the water if it reaches a certain height. Often it’s enough to re-adjust these things to allow them to shut off. You can test this by gently pushing it up and see (and listen) if the water stops.

I had this issue because the was lime and dirt pressing on the floater that measures the water level (or some sort of it). It needed to be cleaned but I wasn’t able to reach it.
Don’t open anything if you don’t know what you’re doing. It’s not your property.
I know, the leaking water is annoying but it’s really not a measurable cost.
The valve for your flush container is inside the container. But since it looks old and you already having trouble withe flush iz migjt be better not to touch it without having a sparepart. It might fail while turning.
So if it just leaks, let it leak. If its completly runing through then you should give it a try.
While opening the transparent plastic cover you might the whole thing working temporarely by getting it unstuck with a ligjt touch

I had the same issue.
Close this valve after you use the bathroom to stop wasting water and wait till the official plumber comes and fixes, otherwise they might have you liable for the damage. As the plumber told me: “nicht basteln”!
