  1. Oof , either side of this political dilemma can see this is blatant anti-semitism. Yet the media like to focus on the supposed inherent anti-Semitism of being pro Palestine.

  2. I do feel quite bad for the police here. Because I think he’s right: being visibly Jewish (and not part of the protest) *is* perceived as antagonistic to a minority of the crowd. And the police are right to assess that there is a reasonable risk of violence.

Too many people are focusing on the policeman’s language, when he’s the *only one* being honest about the situation; these protests make areas unsafe for Jews, and the Met does not have the ability or political will to protect them.

Instead the Met will make vague comments about how everyone should be safe in London, with a side-eye and wink to the Jewish community saying “yeah, stay away. Can’t guarantee your safety here.”

  3. Sadie Khan, the mayor of London, is Pakistani and Muslim.

So he has a great bias towards Palestine on this matter. The massive Palestinian protests and tolerance of antisemitism in London is done under his command. As he has proven ineffective in tackling racism against Jews.

It’s such a sad state of things, but it explains the lack of enforcement when the mayor is so compromised in his beliefs.

  4. To be fair, this guy seems like he is just wanting to make a scene. Whether its within the march or with the police, as long as it happens and he gets on TV as a token against the “outrageous anti-Semitism that is escalating in UK at present”

  5. I’m not sure I’d be able to restrain myself from violence if I seen that man openly taunting people protesting a massacre.

  6. what the hell is going on to the UK? First terf island now nazi island?

  7. If only the children being starved to death got this level of attention.

  8. The sgt should have picked his words better.

When you watch the footage, it’s obvious there is a large protest going on behind the line of police. The person he is talking to is making efforts to walk towards / into that crowd. This is not a normal day on a normal street, this is the middle of a Palestinian march and this guy is looking to spark something off by walking into that crowd. All in all his actions would likely lead to a breach of the peace and he would be the instigator.

It’s not antisemitic, it’s anti escalation. It’s common sense and common law.

He shouldn’t have used the words “openly jewish” although his sentiment is clear as day, he isnt saying being a jew is criminal or even implying it. He is saying if you go into that massive crowd where emotions are high you won’t be coming out in once piece and you know it, so I am not letting you in. He has a common law and statutory duty to prevent that from happening.

This isnt the “slipping of the mask” moment people are wishing it to be.

It’s descalating conflict but with a poor choice of words in a volatile situation.

  9. I’ve a friend who is a serving member in the firearms department of the police, he has said to me that they don’t agree or want these marches….. and the UK government have allowed them because of the fear of bombs going off around the country if not allowed, and the public would be mortified if they knew of all the Muslim sleeper cells they dismantle on a daily basis they wouldn’t leave their front door

  10. There is a great cultural incompatibility, the only solution is to return people to their countries of origin.
