US just pulled out all it’s military from Niger. This officialy ends US presence along with French. Also the military base was only built 6 years ago and helped immensely with monitoring the jihadists movement in the area.
Niger seems like it’s on an endless time loop, constantly back and forth between military regimes and quasi republics doomed to be overthrown, I’m middle aged and this pattern started years before I was born.
What is this? Like the 5th military regime since the early 70’s?
I’m sure there’s a lot of nuance to the situation I don’t know, I don’t want to give the impression I understand the problem, I’ve just witnessed this constant back and forth my whole life.
Not going to backfire on them, russia always tells the truth /s
I genuinely feel sorry for Niger and its people.
If you bet on a horse at least try not to pick the shittiest one of them all.
Chad seems to be the next Sahel country that will pivot to Russia:
With Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad and Sudan the pro-Russian belt in the Sahel is almost complete.
Russia and the Sahel Jihadists: Warlords (NSAGs) maintaining the sub-saharan border.
Another war that,West, had lost.

How long until they start rounding people up for trumped up charges?
As the U.S just pulled out
Huh… So it’s scramble for Africa Asian edition XD
Do the people of Niger want this exchange?
Does it mean that Chad Republic cannot sustain a National Army?
Does Russia not need all the troops it can muster right now in its war against Ukraine?
What natural resources is Russia after?
Watched a pretty informative video on the geopolitical situation in the Sahel. For those who want a TL;DR it’s basically France’s version of South America and the USA. Essentially the Sahel nations have been abused by the French even post “colonialism” even to the point of having their currency tied to France’s in a way that is extremely disadvantageous for those nations to do much but export raw minerals via French firms to France. Great example- all that uranium needed to power French nuclear power plants? All comes at a huge discount from Sahel nations because of neocolonial policies. No wonder they’re saying fuck the west.
I believe the video was from RealLifeLore on YouTube.
How does Russia plan on keeping these troops supplied? Raiding and pillaging the locals?
So US troops pull out, Russia moves in
World War 3 is going to be wild
Hope they sabotaged the base and stuff instead of leaving it all for the damn russians. Have them build their own base
First soldiers then civilians. In two years they’ll create the Popular Republics of South Donbas; and East Toubous.
The second coming of the cold war is here. Russia seems aware of this fact…
Now we only need a symbol for the uniforms there. How about a palm tree and some esoteric religious symbol on top…
Niger, puh-lease
Wanted US out to let russia in?
Seems like a bad deal to me. But cant babysit them forever.
Didn’t I read just this morning that Americans were leaving Niger? How timely
