Video covering new highway code changes

  1. The first pedestrian to try and make use of their new rights is getting an express ticket to A&E.

These HC changes, whilst welcome, have been woefully advertised.

I renewed my driving license recently, guess how much information was included on these changes? None at all. Rinse and repeat with every other opportunity I am willing to bet.

  2. Christ, this guy is excruciating to listen to.
People caught should be sentenced to an hour-long talk by this guy.

    You wouldn’t get any repeat-offenders….

  3. Nobody is going to follow these as any pedestrians won’t want to step out whilst traffic is flowing and no car will want to stop with traffic behind them whilst a pedestrian stands in hesitation.

  4. To be clear, the changes themselves aren’t binding or legally enforceable. And everyone was likely doing this anyway as it was common sense and you would be in deep shit if you didn’t and something bad happened…

This is just the code coming into line with legal and social reality.

  5. Instead of advertising bollox ‘buy-this’ we need this to be on everywhere.

Also r/fuckcars coming from an F1 motor racing fan. I know, I know. Bit these are the contradictions we live with.

  6. I may have misunderstood the old highway code rules all along…

If in a car turning off a main road into a side road, and a pedestrian is mid-crossing or starts crossing while you’re turning/approaching with indicator on, who has priority?

I always thought that if the pedestrian was on the road already they had priority, or was there a distinction between whether the car was turning off of or on to the main road?
