Have you seen the Austrian politics lately? Nepotism combined with pro-Russian rhetorics basically feel like an underdeveloped post-Soviet republic compared to Czechia (at least for foreign politics).

Czechia is western for me. Most of their history was being a part of the holy roman empire. Also it s a based country because they have a high number of atheist.
Not all Eastern Europeans are Slavs, but all Slavs are Eastern European.

We would have gotten a communist East Austria, maybe even a communist Austria as a whole.

The funny thing is, I think I have legit never heard a single austrian here defend their place in Western Europe. They’re always like “lol we know” when being bullied into eastern europe. They’re the only country with absolutely zero complex with the place they occupy. Super huge australian win in my book. You guys truly are the “Germans with humor” – my next schnapps is a cheers to you.

Well to be fair Czechia has long history of interaction with the West since HRE… City of Prague was mostly build by Austrohungary empire, Bohemia was one of the richest and industrialized provinces after Austria itself…
I’m not saying that Czechia is Western , in fact I’m not sure… They’re Slavic and former communst which puts them in eastern Europe…
Maybe we can label them as one of the least of eastern Europeans…
