Say what you will about the IDF, but if they had a wallet it would be embroidered with “badass mother—”.
>According to the reports, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and his deputy, Mohammad Hadi Rahimi, along with other officers who were killed, were certain that the consulate building next to the embassy was “the safest” in Damascus and that Israel would not dare to attack the site.
The safest in Damascus is like the safest used condom in a brothel.
There is a reason the moderates and liberals in Iran cheer for Israel.
That’s quite the accomplishment. Congratulations IDF.
Everyone thinks they’re safe till IDF pulls out their safety card. Fancy titles don’t save you from a badass strike. Hats off to IDF!
Soleimani got assassinated in broad daylight. You’d think they would have gotten the message.
Love a bedtime story with a happy ending!
Please continue doing so. They should be treated the same way ISIS or Al-Quida is treated and their top leaders eliminated whenever possible,
Ooo…Good shootin’, Israel.
Iran could be a much better country if they could somehow shed themselves of Islam. A reality-based, *secular* Iran is an Iran that has a future in the world. Religions are a cancer.
Am I reading this right? The delay in transferring the ambassadors housing down the street to a building where Assad’s brothers live coupled with the line how “it’s unlikely Assad was unaware of the security breaches” reads as Assad providing tacit approval for Syria to provide that information to Israel for Israel to assassinate the Iran commanders?
That’s a massive development in Syria/Israel history, if true.
the juice was definitely worth the squeeze
Next time Iranian military holds a meeting, maybe they should just do it over zoom?
Well done.
boxed IRGC > hey hey, are we gonna get to bang some juicy virgins in paradise or what?
The IRGC played a large role in the destruction of ISIS and other terror groups in Iraq and Syria.
“The matter is concluded”
Entire command wing?
Lmao they need to camp on another cities not stay on damascus
Well that’s why they risked the escalation then…
Were they competent or they had that position because of loyalty?
Here is the thing, if they had that rank just because they were loyal things might get interesting. Every time loyals quit or are killed under a regime, competent and skilled people are finally given the positions they are prepared for and it can be quite dangerous. Time will tell.
Keep in mind many of the same ppl who are opposed to this would have said Israel should “just do special ops” and kill leaders instead of going into gaza
Claude.ai summary:
Title: Entire IRGC Command Wing in Syria Eliminated in Israeli Strike, Says Bloomberg Report
According to a report from Bloomberg, an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus last month killed the entire command hierarchy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responsible for operations in Syria and Lebanon. This includes top IRGC generals like Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Rahimi.
The officers had considered the consulate one of the safest sites and did not expect Israel to strike it. The attack has led Iran to suspect Syrian involvement in previous assassinations of IRGC personnel, as groups linked to Syrian intelligence may have enabled the Israeli operation through espionage.
After the strike, Iran began independently investigating 18 recent assassinations of IRGC commanders in Syria, suspecting high-level Syrian political cover-ups. Iran believes Syrian President Assad was likely aware of security breaches that facilitated the assassinations of IRGC and Hezbollah operatives using advanced technology.
In response to the consulate strike, Iran retaliated by directly attacking Israel for the first time. The attack decapitated the IRGC’s command structure in Syria and Lebanon, which Bloomberg describes as “pivotal for Hezbollah’s activities in the region.”
Even still, Iran do not have any right to retaliation. They were stirring the shit and they got whacked for it.
I’m so confused. This was the same strike earlier in April right? I kept rereading the article and fail to see any new information.
Nice packaging.
These Iranian terrorists planning the attacking of Israel from the Syrian consulate are like those idiots in Russia who attack Ukraine from their soil every day but expect their oil assets and power grid to never be touched back.
There isn’t, and shouldn’t, be any safe space for these terrorists.
Try to imagine, in a parallel universe, the opposite situation happening.
Benjamin Netanyahu doesn’t like a few senior members of Mossad or a few of the top generals of the IDF. He orders them to be relocated to some ‘safe’ location, ‘for their own safety’, and then gives tacit and completely deniable permission for Hamas, Hezbollah or Iran to be secretly told of their location. And one of the three takes them all out.
Can you imagine the shitstorm that would ensue.
Imagine the same parallel universe. God comes down from heaven, and he decides He’s had enough with the middle east conflict.
He waves his hand and creates a second Earth, on the opposite side of the sun, that orbits at exactly the same speed and direction.
On one Earth, there is an Israel with no Palestine. Israel is a peaceful, secure, democratic nation that does its best to try to improve its ties with the rest of the world and its neighboring countries.
On the other Earth, there is a Palestine with no Israel. Palestine is a Hamas-ruled dictatorship, the majority of Palestinians, like their Syrian neighbors, live in poverty and repression with no civil rights, under constant government surveillance, and little hope of ever improving their lives. Hamas and Hezbollah, and factions with each, are constantly at each others throats over control of Palestine, with Iran playing off the two against each other.
So God says to everyone, ‘Choose which Earth to live on. You have to choose, one or the other.’
So, if I had to choose…
Definition of Fuck Around and Find Out. I hope they can eliminate terrorists for good. These worms only contributed violence and pain to everyone on the planet. They don’t deserve the same air we breathe.
Better question why was an entire command wing of Islamic Republic’s Revolutionary Guard in the same building in Syria. It is likely that the strike wasn’t just carried out because they could and they were all in the same building, but also due to the reason of the meeting in Damascus.
This probably saved 90,000 Palestinian lives.
War is war – good strike but all the people can and will be replaced so no great loss
