  1. From Czech perspective this N word controversy is always so absurd.

    At one hand you cannot/shouldn’t say or write the word, on the other hand there is a whole proud country and major river in africa that is pronounced like that.

    And to be clear, i am not advocating here for using it, i understand the word is used as insult. Just that not every language works the same as English

  6. It’s weird how the whole N-word issue has been imported into the Dutch language. When I was young, we used the word solely to describe a person with dark skin. When someone said you looked “brown like a n*”, they were actually complimenting you on your tan.

    Also, back then, nobody would use the n-word when they were being racist. The term was too neutral.
