How likely this is a scam? Even possible to get scammed if I buy it through ebay’s payment system? (it’s 1000 euros camera)

  2. Scam is unlikely guy seems to be a filmmaker so he’s on the road a lot. And it’s probably a very niche blackmagic product?

    I also dont offer any pickups since I simply dont like strangers coming to my home

  7. SCAM. If someone refuses pick up, mostly because “he is on the road” or “not in the country”, that’s scam.

  9. Even though Kleinanzeigen is riddled with scams, this doesn’t look like one.

    Just because he doesn’t offer pickup, that doesn’t mean that it’s a scam. Most people don’t offer pickup, and I also don’t offer that option when selling stuff on Kleinanzeigen, because they don’t want strangers to show up to their apartment, or simply don’t have time to meet with dozens of interested buyers, just for 90% of them pulling out of the deal last minute.

    And before I get downvotes here, just show me some counterarguments against what I just said.

  10. I don’t offer personal pickup because I don’t have time for people wasting my time by not showing up (this happens soooo often).

    Also if it is a scam, why would the buyer not say that davinci is included if it would help sell his Blackmagic camera?

  11. Just use the payment system it should be secure and you pay a lot of extra money for security. There are also other systems that are secure and that work the same way. If it’s a lot of money for you better buy elsewhere or a different one in a store where you have warranty.

  12. Never buy from private, buy only from reputable companies (not some garage startup).

  13. Not necessarily a scam. I have had enough of people making appointments with me, and then not showing up etc. It is often not worth it to stop your life for a seller. If I’m selling something of small value, my plans changed and want to leave, I’ll just leave it in front of my door with a note to leave the money in letter box. This is small town in Bayern – so YMMV.

    However, if you get ‘only paypal family’ – walk away.

  14. You can buy cameras in great condition at Calumetphoto and asgoodasnew. No need to fall for scams.

  15. Buyer needn’t to buy, seller needn’t to sell. If it isn’t a fit, don’t do it.

  17. Never buy anything used via a delivery. Sell via a delivery only after full payment. Way too many scams to trust anyone.

  18. For such an expensive item, it will likely be a scam, especially on Kleinanzeigen.

  21. My friend got scammed on Kleinanzeigen twice, luckily he was able to revive the money back but the first time 300€ was gone.
