Residents push for renaming of Trump Plaza to disassociate from ex-president

  1. Imagine being so rich that you wake up in the morning and this is your biggest problem – you dislike the branding on the front of the building of your $10 Mil Condo.

  3. Imagine being this unliked where the mere presence of your name is mentally and visually triggering to everyone around you. ☠️

    “Trump Plaza is located in the center of New Rochelle, a couple of blocks from restaurants and the local movie theater. Renaming the building would spare residents and workers in this racially diverse city of 80,000 people from encountering, at least visually, the Trump name.

    Some people would be pleased with that.

    “That would be perfect. That would be great,” said Delva Domond, 65.

    “Because we go to New Roc, the movie theater, all the time. When we come around, we have to pass his building. So I’m always like: ‘Man, why don’t they take his sign down?’

    “I’ve been saying that for a couple of years now. And so, you know, I’ll be glad if they take it down.””

  11. The condo owners if they have a majority of votes to change the name have every right to do so. They own the building, not trump.

  15. The Trump name is synonymous with shit. Local residents are well within their rights not wanting to see that every day.

  18. I am sure half the population wouldn’t buy a product that had his name plastered on it. Since these folks tend to be the wealthier side of our population I could see the present resale value being limited.
