Has anyone gone through the process of getting diagnosed with ADHD in Malta?
I recently went to a psychiatrist and he referred me to TAASC. The process with them is going to take around 2 months, will involve about 4 to 5 sessions, and will end up costing around 800 euro.
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their experience of getting diagnosed in Malta to compare how it’s done. TAASC has some info on their process [here](https://www.taascmalta.com/assessment-pathways).

I just went to a psychiatrist and in my first session described exactly what I was feeling, for how long, and so on, gave some family history of physical and mental illnesses. Then he wrote me a prescription for ritalin and filled in the form for me to apply for the control card.
A 2 month process to be diagnosed with something that can severely impact your academic and work performance if not treated properly is very worrying.
Are you an adult or still a minor? I was already an adult when I first visited my psychiatrist.
Well this sucks. I’ve been wanting to go test myself for years because I’ve had symptoms that always affect my work, now idk what to do
My son was recently assessed by TAASC. Too lazy to write but if you want more info, DM me
Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic at Mater Dei. They referred me to Mount Carmel, where a psychologist with two questionnaires interviewed me and scored it. Then POP saw me again two weeks later and prescribed meds.
Lots of waiting in hospital hallways, but it was free.
I spoke to Nicola at willingness clinic and she referred me to a therapist, and to Dr Marilyn Muscat for the assessment.
Assessment includes verbal comprehension, IQ, working memory, perceptual reasoning and also a thorough interview about your daily struggles and any struggles you remember from your childhood.
It took 4 sessions with Dr Muscat to complete the assessment and after she formally diagnosed me, I opted for a written report. Then Dr. Anthony Zahra (psychiatrist) for prescription medication.
I would highly recommend willingness.
Edit: appointments cost around 35-40 euro per session.
I spoke to Dr. Beppe trigona and he referred me from there
I went to the TAASC, via Dr. Nigel Camilleri. I went through St. James, so I had to pay €70 for the consultation and approximately (I don’t remember exactly) an additional €1k for all the assessments. You can also find Dr Camilleri at St. Lukes, but I guess that would require some waiting time.
If you have the money, it’s definitely worth it.
