Was Allegri a world class midfielder way from competing?

Would we have been able to compete with Inter this season had we signed a world class midfielder?

1. I think signing a world class midfielder in January is a fanciful ask in general.

2. Not sure a world class midfielder was available that would actually complement the team was available.

3. Our problems are beyond one player. We don’t move the ball quick enough for our attacking players to get the ball in dangerous positions enough and our player in the midfield or at the back don’t have the confidence to pass forward. If we signed a creative midfielder they’d either have to drop too deep or wouldn’t get the ball higher up.

A world midfielder would still improve the team but I don’t think it’s the only thing between us and Inter.
