  10. I don’t get it. Hamas is designated as a terrorist organization by the EU and other countries. How can a leader just meet with them under these circumstances?

    Wouldn’t this instantly kill any remaining talk about Turkey joining the EU? As a NATO member, it’s pretty concerning.

    Israel should be ashamed of how it’s been conducting itself, not Turkey.

  12. Erdogan’s trying his best to stay relevant to his original religious base – the economy’s tanking and independent voters jumped ship to his rivals in the recent local elections.

    Hamas leadership just needs a place to hang out without getting bombed or overstaying their welcome like they did in Qatar.

  19. It cracks me up when someone laments that an evil person (Erdogan, Putin, Trump) should be ashamed – as if they have the capacity to recognize that something they have said or done is anything other than perfect.

  21. Hamas’ leader is living it up in Qatar giving exactly zero shits about the lives of Palestian citizens.

    Palestinians don’t have someone in true power who represents them. And with the neighboring countries not taking them in, they’re doomed.

  24. Turkey’s man in power has an expression on his face that says (to me – i could be wrong here of course) ‘here’s one for you Director Yi’. And ya man from the terrorists formerly known as “Hamas” has (imho) a look on his face that says ‘ready to do your bidding PRC’.

  25. He wasn’t ashamed of standing by as thousands and thousands of his countrymen, men women and children were crushed to death during the earthquakes in buildings that should have been safe.

    Meeting with Hamas seems easy compared to that.
