Replays where a lower league side gets a draw at home and gets the payday of a trip to a big stadium with the shared matchday revenue happen like once a season, if that.
I’m sure they get frustrated by having to play multiple games against teams also in the lower leagues, so I really think this is being blown out of proportion by the media bc it’s something to talk about.
Make this into a fence and sell articles on either side of it.
Really simple if premier league teams want to avoid a replay against a lower league team, they can start half a goal down and the lower league team gets a 25% of their next premier league home game gate.
Not more of this hysterical crap about cup replays please. A bunch of entitled cap in hand clubs desperate for the remote chance of being bankrolled by fans of more successful clubs. Cry me a river.
They are shills, which, of course, is why there is the big battle over payouts to the lower leagues.
