This seems just crazy to me.
With quotes like:

Voelt toch wel wat dystopish aan. Zij die echt willen verborgen blijven kunnen dat vlot door zelf encryptie te gebruiken boven op die van het platform, of door gewoon te verhuizen naar een app die toch nog end-to-end encryptie toestaat. Maar gewone gebruikers hun data wordt plots wel minder veilig tegen zowel misbruik van de platformen alsook de overheden, en kwetsbaarder voor datalekken.

Goh, ik snap het vanuit professionele overwegingen. Het is nu al hopeloos om doorgedreven onderzoek te voeren naar georganiseerde misdaad.
Maar ik wil tegelijk niet aan privacy inboeten.

Wat een walgelijk artikel. Er wordt nergens vermeld dat encryptie een wiskundig algoritme is dat je niet zomaar kunt breken voor de politie zonder dat het breekbaar is voor iedereen.
Blijkbaar wil de politie het kind met het badwater weggooien: geen briefgeheim, want mensen zouden wel eens slechte dingen kunnen zeggen in hun brieven. Dit is fascisme. Als iemand iets verkeerd doet kan de politie zowieso al aan hun laptop of GSM aan. Dus er is hier geen enkel probleem dat moet opgelost worden.

Dat ze doen zoals de rest. Alles opslaan tot wanneer het kan gedecrypteerd worden.
De mensen die straffeloos constant ongeoorloofd camerabeelden opzoeken van buren, exen, huurders, en collega’s zijn bezorgd.
Ja zij willen dat niet, wil niet zeggen dar het er komt. En vanuit hun standpunt natuurlijk willen die dat niet. Maar de schurken vinden toch manieren om geheim te communiceren.

Reminder dat Europarlementariërs/politiekers zelf in deze wet een uitzondering krijgen. Hun privacy wordt wel gewaarborgd .

We know that most of the chats leaked by today’s voluntary snooping algorithms are of no relevance to the police, for example family photos or consensual sexting. It is outrageous that the EU interior ministers themselves do not want to suffer the consequences of the destruction of digital privacy of correspondence and secure encryption that they are imposing on us.”
