  4. I’m surprised their draft age limit is 25. In the US when we did have drafts we were sending 18 year olds.

  5. Odd considering other armies including the U.S. and Canada you can join voluntarily at 17 yrs.

    Conscription/draft – U.S. and Canada usually mentions the legal age to serve as being the guideline.

  6. Considering their country faces an existential threat to their sovereignty, I’m surprised it took this long and wasn’t lower.

    But that’s a decision for their citizens, not some rando like me.

  7. They need dron operators as much as possible, i heard, for the new dron army and the younger once much better with drons then older folks.

  8. I understand their country is at risk of no longer existing but man do I feel for those young men. I can’t imagine my late teenage years or early 20s being at war, what a horrible thing.

  9. I’m a fella who is strongly against forced conscription, which is an easy position to hold as an american. But if their country is being invaded by their bigger stronger neighbor what else are they supposed to do?

  10. I mean it makes sense, you are in a total war. Russia is looking to exterminate you and your way of life. You should be using as many abled body citizens as possible. With the US aid passing and EU/NATO delivering stuff, training should start immediately for all these new troops.

  11. Even smarter to just open it out to both sexes instead of requiring it of only one. You increase your pool by double or more and get an expanded skill set.

  12. 27 down to 25. Bit of difference from going from 18 to 17.

  13. TBH I’m surprised the draft age was 27, I always figured draft ages were around 20-22 anywhere
