This is looking great, can’t wait to see something like this in the Netherlands.
Are we? Interesting, thanks Reddit, the more know.
Coming next: garden sheds!
that is cool as hell
This is the biggest eco flex I’ve ever seen.
This is the bad kind tho, the one that holds a bike by a wheel which is far from ideal and shouldn’t be produced anymore. Bikes are supposed to be supported by a frame.
Besides that, I love the idea!
Did such bike shelters existed before the need to recycle discarder wind turbine blades? Who did they look like?
Well it’s indeed better than having Ikea or McDonalds every 200m. Or was that Sweden?
That sounds expensive
Why do these actually have to be decommissioned?
Am I the only one imagining that thing straightening again and beheading someone? No one? OK
With this phrasing it sounds like they’re doing it on a national scale. Is that true? How many blades have been repurposed?
What are they doing with those that aren’t repurposing as bike shelters?
Was useless to generate enough power for the ever increasing demand, but at least my bike won’t rust.
I hate these type of bike racks and I don’t understand why people involved in public infrastructure insist on using them. How can you put so much thought into the roof of the shelter and pair it with such an objectively bad design for the main purpose of locking the bikes?
Bikes should be locked at the frame, not the front wheel. Otherwise you are just welcoming bike theft.

Cool
Produce, Reuse, Recycle.
Brilliant!
Cool idea….. but won’t work in Germany 😀
Denmark is such a cool place.

Nitpick: There is only one wind turbine wing bike shed and it is mostly a gimmick but it looks cool – [Source in Danish](https://nordjyske.dk/nyheder/erhverv/kan-du-se-hvad-dette-cykelskur-er-lavet-af/16c9549e-7885-4ecb-bdea-eadaad5d3e49)

Not so long ago I read about the [playground made of recycled wind turbine](https://www.thecoolist.com/recycled-wind-turbine-playground/) in Netherlands. I wonder if recycled turbines could be used in the construction of actual buildings.
We have a few bus stops in the Netherlands using wind turbine blades as roofs
Apparently this is in Aalborg. The city I live in. I’ve never seen it in my life
genius
Wow, I didn’t know the wings were so big (I’ve never seen a live wind turbine)
I love everything about this
