Of course Erica Cody signed it and is probably delighted with the scrap of attention she’ll receive for it. What a sore loser.
Very easy for Erica to say, she lost!
What good will boycotting do? It will not spark a wave of artists pulling out, it won’t make Israel leave the competition, it won’t end the war.
If Bambie doesn’t participate I’ll be asking RTÉ for a refund for my paid votes.
Like excluding Russia has really stopped them in their tracks.
Truth is hardly anyone would notice if she boycotted it.
That Bambie Thug always makes such a bloody hames of explaining their refusal to retire from the contest. Such feeble arguments. As a great women once said, in another context, *the withers of the movement are unwrung*. So Bambie, it’s you who’s looking increasingly out on a limb, and without a single principle.
Erica Cody is truly a sore loser
It’s 400 randomers for the most part.
Bambi should ignore this list. It comes delivered by people who have already established themselves and signed by people who would never be called to make a similar gesture.
It’s shameful that this amount of pressure is being put on one person.

Sorry but all the artists in Eurosong including Erica Cody (who signed this) took part when Israel was already bombarding Gaza.
The attention and pressure shouldn’t be on the artist who signed a contract but on the EBU.
Ireland haven’t won since the 90s and have rarely even qualified in the last 20 years. No one would miss us – we haven’t been relevant in the competition for a while. It would just appear to be sour grapes on Irelands part.
Do people actually think Eurovision would do much? It’s a campy song contest. If you take it that serious well lol. It’s not gonna stop the war or have actual tangible impact on the situation.
I don’t know why there’s been so much energy on Eurovision (also by a lot of people who never watch it) when the Olympics are on a month later and there hasn’t been anything on that despite Israel competing.
There also hasn’t been a word on Azerbaijan competing when they committed ethnic cleansing only last year and have ongoing hostilities with Armenia.
As someone who won’t even buy anything from Israeli since for ever long before the current shit show they are dragging the world into, I don’t see how Bambi not taking part will do anything now if all the EU contestants called them out live on stage that would be the best thing to do call them what they are nazis modern day Nazis.
Does anyone else not think that the preposterously shallow Eurovision is not the platform to be making geo-political statements? And that this is truly pathetic virtue-signaling?
Surely we should be on the streets demonstrating for peace. Release the hostages; cease fire.
Erica Cody is a nasty piece of work. Dirty jealous tactics from a sore loser.
Maybe they’ll show support for Palestine during the show, maybe they won’t, but boycotting won’t do much. Let’s just hope that there are some dissenting voices present at the actual show to make it less of a success for Israel
In regards to dropping out or staying put she’s damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t. People hounding her to boycott are being a bit disingenuous (I’m all for boycotting Israeli media/goods but this is slightly different as hypocritical as it may sound). Hopefully she’ll actually use her voice to raise awareness now.
Everyone should walk out during Israel’s performance
I am all for boycotting Israel but a boycott has always been a personal choice, like vegetarianism or who you vote for. No one should ever force someone to boycott something, convince them for sure but not pressurise. Let’s see what BT does at the show, they deserve to be there if they want to be. It’s super shitty to give them a hard time over it.
The pressure should be on Eurovision to kick Israel out.
Israel zero points overall would have a bigger impact!
Besides a few people I know personally, I don’t recognise many on the list. Personally I think this is quite unfair. I don’t see what pulling out achieves considering we barely make it to the main show most years. If some of the artists of the bigger countries/favourites decided (of their own merit) that they were going to do something and Ireland joined then fair enough. Otherwise, I don’t think Eurovision could give a fuck about a semi finalist pulling out to be quite honest.
Yeah because we shouldn’t underestimate the worldwide impact an established artist like Bambie Thug has on international military operations. And we all know how important a world stage the Eurovision contest is, probably second only to Coachella (where several multiplatinum artists just performed) in terms of cultural significance.
Has anybody suggested the aviva stadium pulling out of hosting the europa league final next month? All I’m hearing is ireland should withdraw from eurovision every couple of days yet not a peep about hosting a uefa competition that allowed clubs and indeed the nation participate in their tournaments
Nah win the fecking thing, then boycott it
The EBU should have disqualified Israel when both the song they submitted and the back up song were political references to October 7th.
This Eurovision lark has become way too political. It’s a bloody song contest and absolutely none of the artists performing have any political functions whatsoever. They’re musicians, singers and performers and that’s the sum total of what they are. If Bambie Thug don’t want to boycott the competition then that’s their choice. It isn’t going to make a blind bit of difference to what’s actually going on in the ground in Gaza.
Except they don’t, cause they’re a hypocrite. Easy to say they would if they weren’t performing.
Is Erica Cody the lady who made up the story about the versatile guy being racist?
Nice try, Erica Cody
The sheer arrogance of Irish “creatives” who’ve achieved absolutely nothing of note is astounding. For fucks sake there are drag queens and theatre workers on that list. Complete randoms who do nothing but maybe pantibar on a Thursday night or pull the curtains up in the Bord Gais. It’s a far cry from Hozier and Barry Keoghan asking them not to show up.
I think bambi thug could do so much more by participating and doing something at the eurovision that expresses support for palestine rather than just not. Of course, if thats what they want, its not everyday you get a chance at the eurovision.
Bambie Thug and the artists from the UK, Finland, Estonia, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, Portugal, Denmark, Lithuania and Sam Marino all released a statement asking to end hostilities for both countries and condemning both Islamophobia and anti-Semitism.
They’ve all alluded to how they are not entirely satisfied with how the EBU is handling the competition. Eurovision has always been confusing about it’s politics. It was founded as a competition to create art and music across Europe after the Second World War. It skirts around modern politics by using allegory (Ukraine’s 2016 entry) and permits humanitarian causes (The Ukraine entry again in 2022). It banned Belarus in 2022 for sending political lyrics and did the same for Israel this year. (Israel changed its song from – I kid you not – October Rain – to Hurricane).
Lastly I’m not surprised Erica Cody was so vocal about it. She has not been supportive of Bambie beating her in the competition. Alisha (who came 2nd) also signed the list but has not been railing at Bambie either. Sore loser me thinks.
That fact that nobody has launched or signed a petition to boycott over the inclusion of Azerbaijan despite them starting a war with Armenia and engaging in ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabagh, would lead one to believe thay those demanding it over the response to the October 7th attack on Israel are not doing so on ethical grounds. They’re more concerned with shitting on Israel than any humanitarian position.
Erica attaches herself to what ever gives her publicity, there is no way she would back out of she one.
It’ll be morto when Israel does better than Ireland!
