Since Ireland is further north than Northern Ireland, why don’t we call Northern Ireland East Ireland?

  1. We already had that eas West separation of a country here, don’t need to traumatise the Irish too

  2. Let’s call it North-East-Ireland just to make it more complicated.

  3. Why don’t they give it back then we wouldn’t have confusions like this

  4. Because then it would be *Our Ireland*, and be united. And who in the ever flying fuck would want that?

  5. Do you guys ever think about Ireland? I don’t. They’re so forgettable.

  6. Maybe we can all just let England do its own shite and make a Celtic union. Cornwall and Brittany can join too if they want.

  7. I’m a bot, *bleep*, *bloop*. Someone has linked to this thread from another place on reddit:

  8. It’s so then we can call the other part ‘Southern Ireland’ to really piss them off.

  9. Why doesn’t England just absorb all of Ireland then boom, no more of this Northern Ireland or Ireland foolishness, it’s all England. Problem solved for the rest of history.

  10. What about a different name entirely without the word Ireland in it, given that it’s a different country 🤷‍♂️
    Pollaland

  11. Or we Just give Back northern Ireland to the republic and for that the Former republic will become Part of the UK as “southern Ireland”

  12. I’m pretty sure we could annex Donegal and the rest of Ireland wouldn’t notice.

  13. It’s is already “Northern Ireland”, not “North Ireland”.
