Hey there! I have lived in Iceland for about an year now. Since I moved here until two months ago I had two jobs, both as a waiter part time. My ex employer basically ghosted me (like, literally) so I sent them a resignation email and applied for unemployment benefits so I can have some money in the time it takes me to get another job. Since I worked part time, my benefits were calculated at 42% which would be around 140-150K isk. I was expecting there to be some taxes (even though on the website in doesn’t specify ANYWHERE about this) but after the taxes, what was left and sent into my account were 95K. I am still happy because luckily it covers my rent (I live with my boyfriend and he is helping me with other stuff until I get a job) but my question is, isn’t it too little? I looked on the payslip and about 30% or something goes somewhere and I don’t really understand where. I will attach a picture with the part of the payment slip that I am interested in, and I would be really grateful if someone could help me out understanding where part of my money goes?
