Is it legal to enter [this road](https://www.google.com/maps/@50.8720486,4.6904298,3a,75y,212.5h,76.48t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sc-bQDC0kxVfIFH5GhZF3Pw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192) (Koning Boudewijnlaan) with a bicycle? I have never seen anyone cycling there, nor would I as it is too dangerous and there are better alternatives to go to the places it leads to. But is it allowed? And if not, why? I could not find anything in the traffic rules about it.

My feeling was that it is probably not allowed, however I could not tell you why. Maybe because it is a 2×2 lane road with a divider and no bike lane? However if you are [here](https://www.google.com/maps/@50.8727981,4.6879657,3a,75y,127.34h,67.5t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1soP2veNRZcoWz2UD_DhKtsA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656), it is definitely allowed to enter the Veilingweg with your bike, but when you reach the end of this road you are forced to turn right onto the Koning Boudewijnlaan and you never pass a sign prohibiting cyclists. Not that I would be very surprised if this was just an oversight.

  1. I second you that there are enough alternative cycle routes along with this street, but there are no signs that this street would be cars only and without one of those signs I guess it is allowed to use as pedestrian or bicycle rider. Are there any law experts in the room?

  2. You can cycle on 70 roads that don’t have a bicycle lane. Wouldn’t recommend it and im pretty sure u could still get in trouble.

  3. It’s not forbidden, but highly unsafe. Best is to cycle through the Arenberg-park until iMec, where you can follow the cycling path via the Biotech campus, and until the SintJanBergsesteenweg.

The lane on the right is often used by the police to park cars that have been towed, so it is allowed to walk/cycle there (to collect your car).

  4. Not sure where the cycling roads lead to but I would assume you are supposed to go on them since they start where the road start.

  5. it was safe to ride your bike there before the imec building was build because there were no parked cars (I can’t remember if it was allowed to park there then but I think not). Now that it’s always full of parked cars they should definitely forbid riding a bike, maybe they simply forgot to adjust to the new situation.
