  1. Pretty galling that he would stoop to the ‘Micheal Martin looks like Mr Burns’ level of debate. Just cheapens the main point he was trying to make.

Play the ball, not the man.

  2. SF resorting to saying stupid stuff on Twitter instead of actual policy solutions?

    I’m shocked, shocked!

  3. Is it more pathetic that he went to the effort of deleting it and reposting with the correct character name? Like, doubling down on such a shitty juvenile take at all.

  4. Same lad was on the culture club in today fm week talking about the appreciation he has for classical music thanks to his time at in his fee paying primary school and his fee paying secondary school. It isn’t just Michael Martin who’s out of touch.

  5. I’m convinced there is a time-distortion field around people of different ages. When the teens and kids have grown sick to death of the latest meme/trend, it’s only then it moves on to their parents. Think how long the “Martin looks like Burns” thing as been around and only NOW politicians are using it.

  6. oof that’s embarrassing. Seriously though, even if they’ve never watched an episode of The Simpsons (how that would even be possible, I don’t know) most people are familiar with Mr. Burns. He’s been around for like 3 decades now.

  7. How in the hell do you get this wrong? Who *doesn’t* know which Simpsons character is Mr. Burns? BTW Smithers always had ideas so the comparison breaks down there too even ignoring the photo

I can only assume he can’t be *this* out of touch and that baiting the entire country with this was the goal all along

  8. Who the devil are you?

I think martin knows, he just doesn’t care. He got a Lovely cuddle from Tubridy.
