I wish we would start using our natural resources better.
But before that there are a few requirenments.
Sweden has stupidly low fees for natural resource extractions, these needs to be raised, we need to profit and not just give away our resources to international companies.
Second, before ANY constructions starts, a fund has to be setup where the company mining pays X ammount of money as a starting fee and during mining pays Y money based on weight units mined while it is mining. This fund will not be controlled by the company, it will be controlled by the government under a strict rule of transparency. This fund will then be used to pay for restoration of the area once mining is done.
This must be the minimum requirenment to open a new mine here.
But based on our politicians, it will be enough to promise them a top job 5-10 years after they quit politics.
