Council blocking footpath with sign telling people not to block footpaths.

  1. And what would that giant empty space to the right be for, then? Is that just the Forbidden Zone for pedestrians?

  2. The pattern underneath, the Dublin city skyline was specifically cut out for people walking with a cane so they would be able to recognise what it is and move to the side that has the pattern, and not into the road.

  3. The comments here show why people think it’s ok to park on footpaths. “Sure there is space to walk around”.

Dublin is blighted by excess signage, poles, electricity boxes. Maybe DCC should tell themselves to cop on too.

  4. I think it’s because the footpath dips down to the level of the road there, to let wheelchair users up on the pavement. And the sign is smack back in the middle of that wee area, which is what the white line is marking out, I think.

  5. Reminds me of when the council installed a pedestrian crossing 3 metres from the side of my house. It beeped once a second, 24 hours a day. It drove me crazy trying to sleep and I had to call the council to ask how many blind people did they expect to need the beeping to cross at 3am.

  6. They have a big contract with the advertising companies for those pavement blockers. Then they end up buying all the ad space. Witness very much a genius at work.
