They are not wrong. Or should we include Bank Holiday ?
Better move to Cote D’ivoire
Many people even in ‘nice’ jobs in the US only get 5-10 days per year, and I’ve seen people on Reddit speaking about how it’s even frowned upon in their place of work to actually use a block of those at once. I would rather be dead than have to endure that type of culture and way of living
What’s the EU got to do with that graphic?
It’s says it’s based on OECD statistics and seems to be by Insider, which I assume is the New York based news media company. Its probably actually done by an American intern.
Tres bien, merci
The number of PAID leave days in Ireland is 30. There’s 21 ANNUAL LEAVE days, + 9 paid public holidays. To rise to total 31 this year.
We actually have a minimum of 29 days… 30 really. This doesn’t take into account bank Holidays. Which makes sense as they are a bit funny with the rules around then. But rhe average office worker will have 30 days holidays from next year 🙂
I remember the flag from a detergent advert during Olympics.
Green white and gold
To be fair to foreigners I have seen Irish people use Côte d’Ivoire’s flag on their insta bios before
I’m not understanding, what’s the issue?
My Dad is in his job so long he gets 39 paid days off a year
That we get the average across the EU??? Or are you just looking for a reason to complain about Ireland?
Isnt the U.K 28 including bank holidays?
I get 6 months paid leave a year so definitely no complaints
Well Ireland has 20 flexible holidays but we have 9 more public holidays as well. I’d be curious to see how many public holidays on top of paid leave there are in the other countries
At the turn of the year, I had 27 days to use.
I used about 25 over the year. Not a clue how many used were carried over.
Where does it say what they think of us?!
I’m glad I live in Ireland 🇮🇪
I often wonder what the Ivorians think of all this. Do they deal with the same struggle? Does it annoy them the same way?
I feel like the two of us should have an annual conference where we get together and bitch about it.
I have this weird affinity with the country because of this. Now supporting them in AFCON purely because my brain just goes “green, white, orange = good”
Yeah, well actually pretty sure its what Americans think of us as this was made by Insider and American Company.
But yeah I saw this on EU page and thought huh strange to put Ivory Coast on this.. but then I saw Ivory Coast actually gets 25+ Days depending on how long your tenure is..
Only communists get paid days off, No thanks Pinky.
Anybody looking at it could just think it’s meant to be Cote d’Ivoire. Without it being clearly labelled as oreland the only person fucking up is the person that compiled it
25 days? Now is that besides paid vacation and sick days. I’m from the US and I get 25 days vacation, 4 personal days and 10 sick days.
I get 26 days a year. Those are vacation days. I get 13 sick days. It depends on who you work for.
US companies provide time off without being forced to do so.
Also aren’t we at 21 days not 20?
That’s the minimum statutory paid leave, many get more that that.
We’ll need a new one in a united Ireland. I’m thinking we be a bit more adventurous than a basic tricolour. Get a wee harp in there or smth
Poland have 26plus think 12 kinda bank holidays
My favourite is watching Ireland games where they have our flag backwards.
Americans don’t get holidays is a common myth. Year one in my last job there I had 20 days annual leave. It all depends on what company one works for. Plus as an example almost everyone gets the Friday after Thanksgiving off.
