Tories’ Brexit, not benefits claimants, to blame for UK woe. Having deprived companies and other employers the length and breadth of the UK of crucial skills and labour in recent years through their hard Brexit, have been making a great deal of noise again about forcing people back into work.

But but say the Brexit supporters.
We’re going fix the economy by making the 0.5% of peole unable to work, drag themselves to a job and fail at it, when there are already no jobs because no-one has money to hire, since we turned the Euro Tap off, while you need a phd to flip burgers, and we wont let sick people study get a phd so they can work at starbucks.
I accept that brexit is partially to blame in the present, but this all started with Thatcher 50 years ago.
People are working themselves to the point of exhaustion in underpaid jobs just to survive. Their housing is overpriced and mouldy, their kids are sick, food, fuel, heating increase in price daily, and vital services are crumbling around them. But when they become clinically depressed and anxious, Rishi calls it “sick note culture.” The problem is the rich, skimping on wages and draining the economy into their offshore accounts. Ordinary people should be valued and rewarded, not victimised and blamed for their own misery.
Another article where companies attempt to argue that the only thing preventing them from succeeding is access to incredibly cheap European labour. Before looking at the article, let me guess, there’s some sort of comment from lobbyists from either the care or hospitality sector?
The solution to any UK labour shortage is for these companies to invest in training their own staff, paying staff more and buying systems to automate processes. The UK has one of the lowest rates of automation in the entire developed world and barely even resembles developing countries when it comes to automation rates.
Tbf it wasn’t a Tories Brexit, most of them were against it including the prime minister at the time, it was more a Daily Mail readers Brexit
Employers are to blame for not training people. They just want to import skilled labour to save the costs of training
Tories’ Brexit suggests there’s a good non-Tory version of Brexit. There isn’t, independence from the EU was a stupid idea.
This government is all stick and no carrot, I was at a large social recently and couldn’t believe the number of people taking/taken early retirement. Most jobs seem so toxic/wearing/soul destroying that people seem to be considering any way they can to finish up their working life. Got me wondering I can tell you!
