If they have the guts to do this, one could wonder why they hesitate to attack the blocking lines? Their chances for survival there are way higher!
Geez, so many easy way out and he used the knife.
Why join up in the first place? Might as well leave Russia and become an illegal immigrant, which is a much better life in comparison.

Holy shit. I just can’t fathom being in a situation like that where suicide is done with such little hesitation. To do what he did is extremely hard to do. Not the application itself, but the thought of cutting your own throat seems impossible to me. So they must be really fucked up and cutting your throat is a reprieve from the alternative. Don’t get me wrong, it serves them right for invading a peaceful nation. I don’t feel sorry for the individual. But as a human being, it’s hard not to sympathize in general for being in such a brutal situation.
He cut his throat in one motion and then jammed it in to be certain. He did a thorough job with zero hesitation. He had no second thoughts or restraints. It was as intentional and deliberate as you can be in a situation like that. I can see the gun suicides because it’s quick and easier to pull off. But using a knife like that would be such a savage way to go. Again, just to specify so I don’t get eaten alive for being a russian sympathizer or something. These soldiers made their choice to come to Ukraine and murder innocent people, so I feel nothing for the individual. I’m just recognizing what that must be like as a human being.

There are entire expanses of dead people.
