  4. If we the USA allow Hamas to take even 1 of us hostage that means that we support an “open game” policy on all American citizens. No man left behind is the only policy I support in this conflict.

  10. This is why Palestine can’t be recognized while under Hamas’ rule. They’ll do this sort of thing again and again if given the opportunity.

They translated the word “kidnapped” to “arrested” in both english and arabic, and at the same time he says he is starving and in hell, so obviously they stopped even caring to pretend in their scripts that they are treating the hostages well. Because some people would still side with hamas on this. What a tragic situation he is in, be strong. I hope we can get you as soon as humanly possible

  13. I can’t imagine what his parents are feeling as they witness the chaos unfold in American universities. Someone please send me one video of the protestors calling for the release of the hostages. 

  15. Glad to see this young man is alive.
    His kidnapping ordeal was told by his mother a couple of days after Oct 7th on the NYT podcast “The Daily” and I found myself googling his name for updates sporadically since.

    I do hope she gets to reunite with him soon. Too many mothers have lost children in this godforsaken clusterfuck of a conflict.

  16. I’ve noticed that many comments that criticize Hamas or the recent protests get upvoted at first before being downvoted heavily in the middle of the night here in America when Europe and the middle east wakes up.

    Maybe it’s a coincidence and my sample size isn’t large enough, but it’d be interesting to do a larger study. I’ve seen a hell of a lot of relatively new accounts heavily defending not only Palestinians, but Hamas as well.

  18. I can’t bear to watch this video or read the article. Is he still alive? His poor mother has been campaigning so hard for his release, I want to cry every time I see one of her instagram videos.

    But the group saying Israel has other levers to force hamas to release the hostages is incredibly stupid. Any of those actions would strengthen support for hamas, or at least make israel more hated. Especially suspending aid. It was bad enough when israel was letting it through and being accused of blocking it. For them to do so officially? Plus it would cause them to lose all aid from the US. Cutting off a military supply line while in the middle of a war is not a good idea….especially when that line produces iron dome rockets.

    All those dead Palestinian civilians are on hamas’s shoulders
