  1. >Mr Gallagher told Sky News vital clues could have been lost and the killer may even have returned to the scene given the area was not cordoned off for days.

    That is a monumental cock-up.

  2. This almost looks like a cover up not a cock up. Has to be investigated to make sure they’re not in on it, tbh. Get an outside police force to take over the murder inquiry.

  3. Police Scotland initially classed Brian Low’s death as a “medical event” well to be honest leading poisoning is a medical event /s

  4. So from a Police Perspective this is pretty on par, throw the lowest rung of Response cops under the bus to please the Public.

It’s also fairly clear from the comments thus far how much American TV people watch, love a good armchair detective. It isn’t like the movies, you don’t get 59 detectives standing around one body with an immediate pathologist attending to confirm cause of death.

We attend hundreds of bodies up and down the country on a daily basis. An old man out walking his dog having been shot would absolutely not be your first impression. This isn’t NCIS, he isn’t laying on the ground with 3 nice big red holes in his white T-shirt. Feel free to google what a bullet entry wound looks like, in most cases it’s barely bigger than a scab. You’d never notice it through thick clothing at the scene if there weren’t other mitigating factors.

The usual process would be to escort the body to the morgue where again even the Morgue tech hasn’t spotted this either when stripping the body. This is also why we have an Autopsy to establish the cause of death because nothing is immediately obvious.

For those of you who don’t see 1-2 bodies a week when someone dies blood within the body can pool internally fairly quickly from pressure sores. I’ve gone to fairly fresh bodies that have big red and black marks where blood has pooled internally. Again it’s an old bloke out walking his dog, my first instinct wouldn’t be to say he’s shot. I also wouldn’t be stripping him naked at the locus in the woods to search for an entry hole which can be 5mm in diameter.

The autopsy did what intended, it highlighted the cause of death. But as per usual let’s shaft the overworked and under resourced response cops to please Joe Public who haven’t got a fucking clue.
