If they’re that hopeless that they’d the balls to take their own life with a knife, I can’t understand why they’d never resort to turning on their officers. Russians are just so broken through one totalitarian system after another that they just shrug their shoulders indifferent at oppression. Think they actually can’t live without being told what to do.

Yup. Social media from 2009 to today has made me desensitized to this. Hardcore yes, but honestly, in his situation, this was the best choice.
I don’t think people realize how unpleasant and long it takes when just gashing away at the neck, one has to get the arteries so that consciousness is lost.
One thing I like to remember is that there’s no PTSD with any of these horrific deaths. It’s just the length of the incident and then it’s over for them, forever.
They don’t have grenades or side arms? So much so they had to knife themselves
