There is this common area available in my building where a facility to barbecue is also provided. I have recently shifted here and have only used a barbecue stand before this. I want to make use of this common area with my friends. However, can someone tell me how is this facility to be used? Should i put the bbq stand in the middle of this?
Also, does someone have any idea if i would need to inform my neighbors that I’m planning to do a bbq on this date and time so that they do not plan on the same date?

  1. Are you sure this is meant for barbecuing? Looks like a sandbox to me, especially since it’s made of wood.

  3. this is definitely a Sandpit, meant to be used by kids to play! Put your own BarbecueGrillStand beside it (maybe beside the bench?)

    @OP, still a sandbox, but I get the idea of secure bbq in a sandbit like this. Might propose it to the community if it could be definitely transformed if no children play there… And install a cooler playground with coverable sandpit 😉

  5. Please dont turn the kids sandbox into a fireplace, she meant the backyard if you bring your own equipment. 😅

  6. If it’s a shared space, that doesn’t necessarily mean you can reserve it for yourself. If someone else also wants to have a bbq on the same day, they can. Unless there’s some rule in the hausordnung about reserving the space.

  8. The rules are don’t make a fire in the sandbox 😀

    If you have a bbq you can set it up in the yard space the landlady showed you
