  1. Well at least he didn’t pledge to bring the Premier League title back to a London club.

  2. It’s 2024 and I have no idea if this is serious or a parody

  3. Gang violence to be solved by mandatory Tombstone Piledrivers for first-time offenders

  4. Wrestlemania and an Olympics bid I can totally get how he’d influence it. I can’t fathom how he’d expect to get the Superbowl here.

I like Sadiq but this is a touch desperate

  5. Super Bowl will never happen. Khan is living on another planet if he thinks we’ll get the premier NFL event.

Regular season games, yes. Super Bowl, no. And I’m sure we’ll also continue to have US teams visiting to play from the MLB, and hopefully the NBA will return. The NHL does a European series, perhaps we could get them over too? But I don’t think enough people like Ice Hockey for it to be commercially viable.

As for the rest, I’m pretty sure London sells itself. Khan being Mayor wouldn’t influence it.

  6. Is it possible to withdraw a postal vote after sending it? Asking for a friend.

  7. That screenshots got Goldust and The Big Show, neither of whom even work for WWE, but both of whom do work for a different wrestling company that already does a big event at Wembley

  8. It’s quite clever honestly , give voters something obviously stupid to focus on, and they’ll criticise that rather than the more subversively negative policies.

You’re going to receive criticism either way, so it’s quite smart to give something obviously stupid but with very little impact as a focal point . Also makes it a lot easier to discredit critics as you can frame it as much more of a petty silly issue , instead of as a fundamental ideology problem.

  9. Some sort of Super Bowl promotional event, maybe. But the actual actual Super Bowl? Why on earth would they do that?

  10. The Super Bowl? Lol. No chance will they allow that to be played here. That Sunday is practically a religious holiday in the US.

  11. Ridiculous but I would welcome another Olympic Games in London.

  12. The idea that the superbowl could be played here is the other cheek of the same arse that wants premier league games played in America. It’s an atrocious idea and it shows a complete lack of understanding of sport.

  13. I’m down with Wrestlemania, but why would we want the Olympics again? They’re nothing but gentrification and disruption

  14. How’s that going to make life better? Tickets are going to go to the rich only. So out of touch admnd tone deaf

  15. More NBA and NHL would be great as there is a big expat community here and they only play at the o2 random and inconsistently. they are the superior sports product in their game worldwide in the same way Premier League is. MLB and NFL seem to have decent success here already… but you are never getting the Super Bowl I’m not sure his campaign knows how American football works.

  16. Getting Wrestlemania is easy, as long as you’re willing to pay WWE a huge amount of money. The main reason WWE hasn’t come back to London since 1992 is that London refuses (rightly so in my opinion) to pay WWE to run shows in London.

Also, we had a wrestling show last year that they moved around 80k tickets for.

  17. Campaign to reduce thefts and knife crime. ✋
    Campaign to bring WrestleMania 👈

  18. Surely there’s no way we’re getting another Lympics so soon after 2012?

  19. I’ve taken my son to a couple of WWE events in London, NGL, it’s a hoot. I don’t see how it’s a mayoral issue though.

  20. Khan is living on another planet if he thinks London is going to host a Super Bowl. It is literally the biggest event on the American sporting calendar.

  21. Ah yes, the superbowl, a true Londoner’s most prized cultural event.

  22. Be big for London to get Wrestlemania. Think people are stupid not to want it, wrestling fans bring in big £ and it’s completely feasible (despite what Nick Khan said a week ago) as cities usually bid to get WM and for a good reason. And as a wrestling fan Wembley would be an incredible venue.
