  1. Hamas is afraid of losing control over aid distribution. If Palestinians no longer rely on Hamas for aid, they lose leverage and civilians won’t need to follow Hamas’ orders. That’s why Hamas destroys anything that would benefit civilians.

  2. Of course this was going happen. Did people think Hamas was just going sit idly by and let the US help Palestinian civilians?

  3. Hamas needs the pictures of suffering civilians and they will do everything they can to minimize the amount of help they receive.

and the irony of the matter is that AL Jazera thinks hamas is great and accuses everyone else all the time….

  4. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a US service member coming home from Gaza in a box draped in a flag for the useful idiots marching on university campuses and on the streets in support of Hamas to realise that, perhaps, they’re not actually the victims in all of this.

  5. Seems like a good enough reason to abandon that idea. Why not just send aid through the other side where the idf already has things secured?

  6. Until there is a force of sufficient capability firmly in control of the Gaza area providing stability and security, the situation and conditions will not markedly improve for Gazans. Not all, but the vast majority of what you see in the “before” photos circulating was built during the time Gaza was under Egyptian or Israeli control.

  7. Somehow Hamas is not in the title of the article. See what’s the reporter does there. ~~And reporter uses “Gazan terrorists” instead of Hamas~~

Edit: acknowledge there are other groups. But yeah, reporters don’t mind to put IDF or Israel in the article title before verify their source but look at what they do in this case

  8. Hamas terrorists not wanting peace under any circumstance – to the surprise of absolutely no one.

  9. Interesting which US news outlets are choosing to cover this story. ^(not surprising though)

  10. How far out is the pier from functioning? We are coming around 2 months now no?

And is it the same location as the world kitchen dock?

  11. I believe this falls into the doctrine of “Don’t touch our boats.”

“Imma touch ’em a *little* bit and see what happens”

  12. Hey guys, remember when the US decided it was going to try to feed the people starving in Somalia because the warlords were stealing and hoarding all the food?

    How did that work out?

  13. Just reading a sub story in the article. pier is supposed to cost between 180-200 million? How massive is this pier?

  14. Yeah, we all kinda expected that. Only idiots thought Hamas or another Palestinian militant group wouldn’t attack Americans trying to setup a supply line for aid not controlled by them.

  15. Hamas or PIJ just couldn’t wait more than a week to attack them. What a bunch of jackasses

  16. Notice how the headline doesn’t say who attacked it, that’s designed so that everybody can fill in the blank with their own Boogeyman

  17. What can the US do that Israel isn’t doing already? Biden would never ok glassing Gaza, and Israel is already not pulling punches with attacks on Hamas bases in civilian/protected buildings.

Best case they do damage and look strong at home, worst (most likely) case the American far left (who currently agree with antisemites, strange situation there) might be less adamant about withdrawing all military support for our most powerful ally in the region.

  18. Real success this pier is going to be,

Hope the lives of the US soldiers that are going to be lost to Terror attacks are worth it to all the pro-P that pressured for this.

  19. Guess Hamas doesn’t care much about the people of Gaza after all.

  20. Yeah hamas being hamas. I knew this was going to happen eventually

  21. Nobody could have guessed this would happen. The palestinians know nothign but peace, not sure where they keep getting these violent actions from cuz the whole population is so peaceful and constantly says “we want to live in peace with our neighbors and would never hurt anyone”

  22. They’re biting the hand trying to feed them.  Yet it still won’t be enough evidence, on top of the Mt Everest size of evidence already against Hamas, to stop people from shutting down American universities and pledging themselves to a terrorist organization.

  23. The pier is a bandaid. It’s a sign of how pathetic the whole situation is that people thought this would be a good idea.

The symptom is Hamas committing crimes and Israel committing crimes.

Honestly we shouldn’t support either side. Neither side wants peace
