why are they migrating there? lack of food in their usual location?
They live naturally in the Red Sea. Getting to the Mediterranean doesn’t require them to do anything except swim through the Suez Canal… which we know is [how it happened](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5533737/). It’s honestly a bit surprising that they didn’t make it there sooner; the Suez Canal has been open since 1869.
Doesn’t make it any less of an issue, but, I don’t see how this one resolves without closing the Suez in some way.
No known predators. Must be some pretty happy fish!
