Driver either has to stomp on it or the squad needs to dismount. This just turned into target practice.
Whats the correct way to handle this situation? Engage the enemy, meaning attack into the ambush?
Hmmm am I wrong or they seemed to be injured before the ambush, I mean, they were evacuating the zone after a previous combat
that area is wild wild west type, desolate, few settlement perfect for ambushes, then why pakistan military is using open vehicles. those vehicles are good for hunting/raiding but not for patrolling where are their light/heavy armored vehicles?
Valley road bends, are the worst place to get caught in an ambush. Reduced speed, shape of bend forms a natural L shape for perfect elevated ambush with no crossfire. Driver was killed almost instantly, preventing them to be able to get out of the kill zone. Turkey shoot.
This is why armored vehicles like Humvees(the ones with doors lol) were adopted over open and canvas covered transports. Then MRAPs when small arms no longer could penetrate vehicles, and IED’s were being used.

There was too many of them! Got the drive first! Just think 5 or 6 guys fireing in to the back of the truck! They didn’t have a chance! I have seen the same thing in the Russia/Ukraine conflict!!
Why no attempt to dismount? I mean, they were 100% cooked either way, but it’s like nobody here has any survival instincts.
The driver was probably taken off first, else he would have floored the gas pedal.

The ambush is terrible. If you get ambushed, that’s it. Even special forces cannot escape this death. A few years ago, a Green Beret was also killed in an ambush in Niger.
Driver was taken out first and the rest were just stuck in the kill zone.
And that’s why APC is made
