This is the bs that grinds my gears, when I see americans trying to interact with europeans. Noone cares who your mother,grandma or neighbour of your cousin was, to reignite an ancient meme “My culture is not your promdress!”

There are parts of Germany where dresses like this were/are traditional, so I don’t really see the problem here.
I’ve heard people in Vienna are very nice and friendly. I want to see their reaction, when an american wearing this says they are half German and connecting with their roots.

Americans have no History of their own. No real tradition and no rich cultural history of their own. Thats why they so desperately try to appropriate other cultures. However, since the only defining cultural trait they have been able to develop is being superficial, they never actually bother to learn enough about what they are trying to incorporate into their meaningless existance to not make a fool of themselves.

I travel to Canada next year. I hear that they all wear comically large cowboy hats, say “Howdy, y’all” and constantly shoot at each other. Should I do this as well in order to not look like a clueless tourist?
