  1. Australia is (still) a very misogynistic society. I wonder if any of the other Western democracies could imagine a female Prime Minister or President being talked about like [this](https://postimg.cc/WFL5d5Vx/f7fa4e04) (and with no repercussions) by the opposing Party, as Julia Gillard was 🤔

  2. So I was curious and looked up some stuff. Idk if this is a good source.

So there has been an increasing trend of violence in general, but the more higher rates are DV and sexual violence towards women.

This is still troubling, and shows that more of the violence occurs at home and by familiar people.

Maybe intervention can be done earlier when people are showing aggression like bullying and DV. And more serious intervention can be done. Also quite a few murders occur due to spontaneous actions rather than anything premeditated. Maybe get people to go into counseling earlier.

So far though reactionary actions are often lopsided and end up not actually focusing on the underlying issues.

A grisly murder occurs, people panic, then those in charge rush to get the photo-op. Then barely take care of the actual issues.

Like this dudes the prime minister, the guy in charge, just what is he protesting. As the single most powerful person on the land, why not actually do something.
