Looks like Ukraine could use Super Tucano and the Skywarden for this situations.
This is great, they should look into making, getting some biplanes. They do not need as long of a runway to take off and can make more tight maneuver. The cons are their top speed is lower as well as their range/flight time because of the extra drag.
Also most WWI and WWII based planes can be made with mostly wood.
As a Brazilian, I’m still bitter that my government denied the sale of A29 Super Tiucanos to Ukraine. They’d be perfect for drone hunting
IMHO the next step would be drones that hunt other drones.
Maybe automatically aiming for everything that has a specific shape
or makes noise like a moped while being above ground.
Unbelievable ! Folk, this looks so much like the first ever aerial victory in history: Frantz & Quenault, Octobre 1914. I mean, one pilot, one gunner in the rear, slow propeller plane.
This drone war is rewritting the book of aerial warfare, deep in the age of missiles. Weirder with every single day.
When was last air to air victory of a piston engine fighter – aircraft, I meant ? 1969 “football war” Honduras vs El Salvador, Corsairs vs Mustangs ?

You don’t need wing mounted weapons… the pilot just gets into formation and the guy in the back can use a shotgun !
