I have two car parking lanes right in front of my house. The car lanes are both ours, every house has two.

My neighbour's daughter, who lives two houses down, keeps parking in one of my two car parking lanes and she has dented my car multiple times. Not only that but she makes it extremely difficult for my disabled parent to get in and out as she parks extremely close to my car.

I've asked her multiple times to not park in my spot and have told her parents, who support her behaviour.

She refuses to move her car and continues to park in my designated spot. She's knows I can't do anything about it and has repeatedly told me to fuck off.

This is not an apartment complex, it's a housing estate. The parking is directly in front of the house with a footpath between.

I can't call the Gards about this shit because they won't do anything about it and it's a waste of their time. How do I deal with this issue? Can't find a towing company that would tow her car away as the ones I contacted only deal with public spaces, not residential estates.

EDIT: Illustration

It goes without saying guys that I don't want to do anything illegal nor do I want to damage her car in a way where she would seek vengeance on mine.

  1. What’s a parking lane? If this is something you genuinely own and not just public land that happens to be in front of your house then I’d suggest paying to have a lockable post installed so she can’t use the space.

  2. > The car lanes are both ours, every house has two.

    Where is this set out?

  3. Can you park your car taking up the two spaces?

  4. Park your car diagonally accross the two spaces for as long as you can be without your car for

  5. A picture would help here because I’m confused

  6. I’m fairly petty, so I would park in their lane

  7. Are the parking spaces specifically designated to each property?

Is it the case that there are 3 cars in the other property?

Is it the case that you only have 1 car but 2 spaces…as in you’ve an unrequired space?

Start parting in one of her house designated spaces

  8. Can you clarify what you mean by “your spot”.

Do you legally own it/is it legally owned by your landlord and explicitly included in your rent. In a private complex it’s usually included in the deed. Or do you own it as an “unspoken courtesy” street parking.

But you just have to clarify so we can give you proper advice.

If you own it you should double park or put something there eg skip but use ur imagination ;)A

If you don’t own it there are ways around it. You can make a curb drop where you convert your whole garden to a drive that is illegal to block. ( Drastic but got to respect the pettiness)

  9. If she dented your car I’d be reporting it to your insurance with her registration plate and insurance details.

Sounds like a right little cow and the parents no better if they don’t stop her.

  10. Buy a shitter of a car, it doesn’t even have to run and place it in the middle of their spots. As you said a towing company won’t move it

It’s hard to tell from your diagram. Do you have a driveway and there is additional parking? Something like this?

  12. Next time you leave the house, lob a few nails onto the parking spot. Super glue her wipers to her windshield. It sounds like she couldn’t give a fuck, it’s time to do the same.

  13. If you know her name send her a solicitor’s letter saying if she doesn’t remove her car from your property that you will have her towed and pursue her for costs.

  14. Get yourself wheel dolly’s and a trolley jack. Push the car out into the road and leave it there.

  15. I’m not sure how the law would work there, but because it’s part of your property… document every single day for a month, write up an invoice for the rent on that space, and put it out to collections when they don’t pay up.

I wouldn’t damage their car directly either, people like that don’t have civilized boundaries to begin with, don’t put yourself out for target practice. Never stop the flow of reports and complaints up the chain, document everything and then go higher up the chain when nothing keeps happening.

Publius Aelius Hadrianus was a smart guy, he won; you can too ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

  16. As others have suggested the bolt down retractable bollards are great. They’re used effectively in the Shackleton estate in Adamstown

  17. Start parking at her parents’ car park and encourage who visits you to do the same.

  18. A wheelie bin with some heavy weights in the middle of the driveway? Sounds like she wouldn’t be half assed at any sort of challenge.

When she parks, put heavy wheely bin behind her car. Let her damage her car herself.

Surely if someone leaves something in your driveway,, can you not report to guards as suspicious behavior and you think the car is stolen?

Curious, what if you spilled paint all over your driveway while the car was there? Not your fault, you don’t know who’s car it is.

Id actually pay a company to tow and dump it half way across the city.

  19. Simple. Park diagonally across both of your spaces. When she knocks in tell HER to fuck off.
Source? Me, previous house, same parking situation and it worked wonders.

  20. Ive always found being angry to the arseholes yields results

  21. Take a few days holiday and Park a car across the entrance of the driveway blocking her car in. Don’t move it no matter the threats or better don’t answer the door.
You could hire a skip to be placed there too if don’t have a spare car, her missing work etc will have a greater impact than anything else.

  22. Her hitting your car and driving off is a hit and run under the law. You can report it to the gardai along with reporting her trespassing. They will be obligated to take the hit and run seriously and she will have the threat of prosecution hang over her head.
