Can’t wait to see X-Men and Fantastic 4 together too.
Well, you’d probably want to see Loki so you know who the time police that want to imprison Deadpool are.
What kind of deranged person would care about MCU lore… this is such a sad thought.
Edit: Those are movies, the stories are badly written and no more than a companion piece for the visuals. I thought everyone could see that at this point.
Awesome. Do I need prior MCU lore to skip this one too?
I would love to see a return to franchise movies that don’t require a ton of knowledge about other properties. I’m sure I would enjoy some of the MCU movies, but I don’t want to have to watch a dozen different movies and full TV series to get all the little inferences.
Well, from the trailers, I can see that it would be helpful to know about the TVA, Ant-Man, and sling rings, just to name a few. While I’m sure you don’t *need* to know what these things are, there’s no doubt that knowledge of them will add useful context for those viewers that know about them. Which is, really, no different from any other MCU movie out there. And yes, I’m including MoM, contrary to what some may claim.
This sounds a lot like the “Our movies have all practical effects (except for all of the CGI that we won’t talk about)” thing productions like to do now to impress audiences that think that CGI is lame.
Despite that some of this takes place in the TVA? – easily the most confusing place for your dad coming to the movie with you to grasp.
Ooooooo it’s being made by Shawn Levy? Thats disappointing
He kinda pulls you into the universe no prerequisites needed, it’s why it works
MCU movies have always tried to fill in viewers and make sure it can be enjoyed by someone who doesn’t know much. Only IW and EG were the possible exceptions and there’s nothing they could do about that. Even there, it’s probably that lack of personal connection to all the pay offs that’s unreachable for casuals, the plot points will be easily understandable to most
This Home work complaint only started cuz they started doing lore significant plots in TV shows and some of the movie sequels of other characters being direct continuation of these shows, rather than having some level of stand alone-ness (the conflict being introduced and solved in the same movie) that majority of pre EG movies had..
Deadpool has TVA and all from TV show , but that is an easily explainable part of the lore. They are not continuing any story or character arc from Loki. If they were bringing back Sylvie or God Loki as an important character, then it might have been confusing
Honestly, good, The problem with the previous MCU stuff is all the amount of extra movies and TV shows you gotta watch before watching a movie.
I’m gonna assume this movie is going to reference previous X-Men movies however not required…
