Lincoln Project cofounder Rick Wilson kept it simple, tweeting “Good morning to all you who didn’t shoot your puppy in the face.” Even top Trump ally Laura Loomer was disgusted by this level of cruelty, tweeting, “She can’t be VP now.”

Scariest part is it seemed like a total dog whistle when she explained that difficult /unpleasant things needed to be done for the greater good. Wonder how far she’s willing to let THAT one go. ….
Republicans: The poor dog wasn’t even a rival.
I’ve spent the last day pondering this story and growing more and more disturbed. It boils down to Noem’s use of the term “hate” as in “I hated that dog….” In other words, this was not the rural pragmatism she pretends motivated her repulsive choice. It was an emotional act born of simple frustration, anger, and embarrassment. Frustration and anger with herself for not properly training and controlling her dog. Anger and embarrassment that her personal failure resulted in the deaths of a neighbor’s chickens. This story proves that Noem is not a woman of strong moral and ethical character. She is weak, impulsive, and severely lacking in common sense. That she shared this loathsome story as an apparent source of pride demonstrates that she is not worthy of the role she fills as governor of South Dakota much less any higher office to which she aspires.
Very stupid move on her part. Killing dogs or cats or any animal we keep as pets is a great way to seriously piss many people off.
MAGA voters will be posting their animal torture videos on “X” and “Truth” Social.
Sounds like the perfect running mate for tRump.

Someone, somewhere, will disgustingly argue that this is a great politician because it proves that she has the guts to do difficult the things that need to be done and we need someone like her in the office just because of this evil act. (if not done already)

What gets me is she blamed the dog and goat. She’s basically saying the dog and the goat made her kill them.

It scares me that it comes down to how useful the dog is. I can see the same reasoning used on people. If they’re not useful or obedient, then we don’t need them. That’s a kind of Nazi mentality.

They did that for Sarah Palin when it was shown she shot wolves from a helicopter. Until we found out she didn’t know f-all about guns and was larping but that’s a story for another day

It’s one thing to “put down” a sick animal that can’t be treated and another to kill a animals because you hate them. I guess taking them to the ASPCA and not looking back was too much work.
