into the world famous Travy Fountain to
make a
wish they say that we should throw three
coins uh for tradition one for returning
to Rome one for love and one for good
luck but tourists often don’t know that
their coins fund katas a Catholic
charity twice a week employees sweep and
collect coins from the bottom of the
fountain on average 200 to 400 kg of
coins worth 4,000 to 8,000 are gathered
each
time the coins are then dried and

A5 million euros the donations allow
them to open five supermarkets to help
2,000 families in need
not all the beneficiaries are aware of
