Hello All,
I'm fairly new to Belgium, starting a new job next week. I'm trying to use the oven, but I can't seem to figure out the settings. Regardless of what settings I choose, the grill comes on and just burns everything.
It is a brand new oven, fairly basic. Is this normal? How do you guys make anything in the oven? Or am I just really daft?
Picture for reference: I'm trying to use the fan or top bottom heat option but the grill still turns on. Could you please advise what am i doing wrong?

If the grill really is always on i’d suspect something faulty. You have selected the correct option.
Because your temp is too high. 200C is for pizza/grilling cheese. Not cooking (that should be 160-180)
Your setting right now is:
Left: top heating element on, bottom heating element on (both regulated by the thermostat) and the blower.
Middle: timer
Right: 200 C temp
The heat of your oven needs to come from somewhere. That’s the heating elements at the top and bottom of your oven.
Other possible scenario: the fan doesn’t work, so the heat isn’t distributed evenly.
Also: google is great for finding manuals
What are you cooking that requires 120 minutes at 200 degrees? That would burn pretty much anything?
It’s normal for the ‘grill’ to turn on when using that setting. The grill setting is nothing else but just the top heat element going.
Now, normally the top (and bottom) element should turn ‘off’ when your oven reaches temperature and only get red again when getting the temperature back up. It they stay on continuously something is not right.
Your knob may be broken/misaligned.
