1. In past years I might have become worried about this but I inherently trust Ortega in a way I really haven’t in an understudy since… idk Caballero? Maybe more.

2. Hopefully Ortega extends his contract with us. He is easily Ederson’s equal. Quality doesn’t drop at all between the two of them

3. This absolutely sucks, ederson passing is so key its ridiculous. Ortega misses passes all the time although he is still decent. Just think of the alvarez goal vs brighton with the ederson pass

6. He’s not really a backup in many situations. He’s 1B here in so many ways. Absolutely solid back there.

7. I think the bigger story here is Scott Carson, the GOAT, not making any waves about not playing ahead of Ortega. The man just loves sharing the spotlight with his teammates 😄
